     PlanMax is an agent-based decision-support system that assists loadplanners rapidly develop cargo placement plans for commercial car-carrying vessels. PlanMax uses agents to assist the user by automatically generating loadplans and alerting the stowplanner to cargo placement violations.
 
     Equipped with a powerful set of decision-support tools, PlanMax significantly reduces the loading and off-loading completion times of car carrying vessels and greatly improves in-transit visibility. Through a port of debarkation color-coding process and the ability to automatically position vehicles based on user-defined preferences, PlanMax allows users to rapidly develop loading and off-loading sequences. In addition, computerized agents monitor, validate, and assist the development of these cargo placement plans and ensure that they are compliant with International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) and Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR).
 
     PlanMax is based upon the Toolkit for Information Representation and Agent Collaboration (TIRAC®) framework.
