Following the designation of ICODES as the Department of Defense’s official ship load-planning system, CDM received requests for similar technology from the commercial shipping industry. In response, CDM produced ICODES Commercial, which offers intelligent agent technology, built-in stowplanning knowledge, and a user-friendly interface to commercial load planners.


ICODES Commercial Capabilities

ICODES Commercial allows commercial shipping companies to develop quick and efficient load-plans by offering:

  • Detailed ship drawings that the user can download, as needed, for his/her enterprise.


  • The ability to import cargo lists created in Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of the space constraints on a ship as well as how to move cargo from one stow location to another.


  • Plug-In components, which allow a user to build ships and yards not currently in ICODES for use in load-planning and cargo location tracking activities.


  • Intelligent agent technology that performs checks and validations on cargo data, on the placement of cargo, and on the proper segregation of hazardous materials.
