CDM Technologies, Inc. has strived to produce transportation planning software to facilitate the ever-changing needs of the military. In the early 1990s, it became apparent that existing stowplanning systems, based on sequential, single-tasking methodologies, were unable to accommodate the frequent cargo substitutions, unscheduled conveyance changes, and surge condition throughput unavoidable in transportation operations.
Consequently, the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) of the U.S. Army recognized the urgent need for advanced technology to increase the speed and efficiency of transportation planning.
Working with SDDC, CDM continues to produce knowledge-based systems that incorporate computer-based expert agents that provide alerts, alternatives, and notifications during various phases of the transportation planning process.
Our systems are not designed to automate the stowplanning process. Rather, they assist the human user in making decisions. Our applications provide capabilities that allow the user to react quickly to changing transportation requirements and offer timely recommendations to complex situations.
